Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Fjellvarden AS (“Fjellvarden”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles personal data in connection with the applications (“Apps”) we develop and publish.

In short: we do not sell or share your personal data, and we do not collect personal data beyond what you provide through our payment provider when you buy an App, or what you choose to send us when you contact us.

What data we process

Purchase data. When you buy one of our Apps, the purchase is processed by our payment provider, Lemon Squeezy, who acts as the Merchant of Record. They may collect information such as your name, email address, billing details, and payment information in order to complete the transaction. We may receive limited order information (such as your name, email, and what you purchased) so that we can provide support and manage licenses. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.

Contact data. If you contact us by email or another channel, we receive the information you choose to share with us — for example your name, email address, and the content of your message — so that we can respond and help you.

App usage. Our Apps are designed to run on your device. They do not track you, build profiles about you, or collect personal data beyond what is described here and in the per-app section below.

How we use your data

We use the data described above only to process and confirm your purchase, provide customer support and respond to your inquiries, manage licenses and send important information about an App you have obtained, and comply with legal obligations such as bookkeeping and tax requirements.

We process personal data on the basis of performing our contract with you (your purchase), our legitimate interest in responding to your inquiries and supporting our customers, and to comply with legal obligations.

Sharing of data

We do not sell or rent your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising purposes. We only share data with our payment provider (Lemon Squeezy) to the extent necessary to process your purchase, with service providers that help us operate (such as email or hosting providers) under appropriate safeguards, and with public authorities where required by law.

Data retention

We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above, or as required by law (for example, accounting records are retained for the period required by Norwegian bookkeeping legislation). After that, the data is deleted or anonymized.

Your rights

Under applicable data protection law (including the GDPR), you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. You may also lodge a complaint with the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet). To exercise your rights, contact us at hei@fjellvarden.no.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.

Per-app details

Tindbase

Tindbase is a macOS menu bar app that runs locally on your computer. To do its job, it works with data on your machine — but that data stays on your machine and is not sent to us:

  • Local folders and Git status. Tindbase scans the project folders you choose so it can show your projects, branches, and changes. This information stays on your device.
  • GitHub connection. If you connect your GitHub account, Tindbase uses it to list and clone your repositories. The authorization is handled directly between your device and GitHub, and any access token is stored locally on your Mac. We do not receive your GitHub data or token.
  • Automatic updates. Tindbase checks for new versions using Sparkle. This check contacts our update server and may, like any normal web request, include technical details such as your IP address, app version, and operating system version. We use this only to deliver updates and do not use it to identify or track you.

Tindbase does not contain advertising or third-party analytics tracking.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page.
